Daniel Tambasco is an Italian–Australian singer, songwriter, and entertainer based in Sydney, celebrated for his rare ability to fuse classical vocal artistry with contemporary musical styles.
Born to Neapolitan parents, Daniel discovered his voice at the age of 14 and began his vocal journey under the guidance of Claire Poole (The Claire Poole Singers). His natural gift and artistic discipline led him to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he completed both an Advanced Diploma of Opera and a Master of Music (Opera Performance).
As an independent artist and freelancer, Daniel has built a diverse performance career spanning the Australian Club Entertainment circuit, Opera Australia, and numerous organisations and venues across Australia and overseas. His work showcases not only his vocal range, tone, and timbre, but also his instinctive ability to captivate an audience through emotional storytelling and genre versatility.
A passionate advocate for crossover music, Daniel blends classical and operatic technique with musical theatre, classic rock, pop, and nostalgic favourites from past and present decades. His artistry centres on reimagining repertoire in fresh and innovative ways, bringing new life to beloved songs while honouring their original spirit.
Beyond performance, Daniel has produced and led multiple concert fundraisers in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Pancare, reflecting his commitment to using music as a force for good. His achievements include winning the 2017 Australian Club Entertainment (ACE) Award for Rising Star, a nomination for the Australian Entertainment Mo Award (2018), and dual nominations for Best Male Voice and Rising Star at the 2019 ACE Awards.
Daniel has independently released three studio albums:
Reinvented – a contemporary-classical fusion bringing operatic vocals into a modern sound world.
A Tribute to Christopher Cross – a double-disc homage to one of his longtime musical inspirations.
A Heart Centre Stage: Ballads from the World of Musicals – a heartfelt collection celebrating iconic theatre ballads.
Musically, Daniel draws inspiration from an exceptionally wide spectrum of artists, embracing influences “from Marilyn Monroe to Marilyn Manson — and everything in between.” This broad artistic curiosity fuels his bold and unconventional approach to crossover work.
Guided by his personal creative motto, “The sky is not our limit — we can go far beyond it,” Daniel continues to explore new artistic territories, redefining what it means to be a modern tenor in a rapidly evolving musical landscape.
